Our Merrill Gardens at Kirkland Community is partnering in a Holiday Toy Drive with KITH, a local, non-profit neighborhood organization that has been providing transitional and long-term housing for Eastside families in need for over 20 years.
Residents from the Merrill Gardens communities in the Northern California region enjoyed an outing on board the Hornblower for Fleet Week. Over ninety residents made the trip on a beautiful day to see the Blue Angels!
We would like to send a special thanks to all Veterans, and to the many residents at our communities that served our country. One of our residents Frances Schmiedt has been helping our troops by knitting caps for American soldiers. She has made over 100 caps and now she is hoping that people will donate yarn so she can keep knitting for the “Treats for Our Troops” program.
We are thrilled that Seattle Business Magazine named us a winner in their 2010 Washington Family Business Awards. Merrill Gardens was honored in the category of Business Transition Award. Thank you!
Here’s a great photo from the banquet. Our Chairman Emeritus, Cordy Wagner and Chairman Charlie Wright accepted the award on behalf of all the residents and team members at Merrill Gardens. Great shot of Charlie and Barb Wright and Cordy and Judy Wagner!
Its not every day you get to meet an Olympic athlete! 2010 Olympic Nordic Combined Silver medalist Todd Lodwick visited Merrill Gardens at Northgate recently to speak to residents. He also shared his medal from the 2010 Olympics and posed for lots of photos!
