Village Green Residents Teach Local Students!

Our community in Gilroy, CA held some great events during Support Our Troops Week, including a special visit from local students.

Fifteen Veterans from Village Green were interviewed by fifty six honor students from Christopher High School and the residents had a great time sharing their experiences.

Pictures and mini bios were displayed during the USO fundraiser that featured a swing band, a speech from the Northern California Director of the USO, the Gilroy Boy Scout Troop performing Pledge and Color guard ceremony, and a film featuring photos of our residents during their years of military service. These interviews are an on-going school year project that will culminate in a five minute documentary, called “Stories of Service,” that will be used on the Gilroy Dispatch website.

Did you attend the event? What did you think?
