Merrill Gardens Presents “The Crane”

Our residents have so much passion and talent! Last Friday, Merrill Gardens of Kirkland (WA) presented an amazing rendition of “The Crane”, an old Japanese folktale. We had a great turnout for the show and all involved had a fun time getting ready for opening night. From dancing to crane making, over 25 residents participated in some aspect of the show.

Active Living Director, Charlie Dillon directed the production and incorporated yoga, tai chi, meditation, ballet, singing and dancing.  Rehearsals took place over the course of three months and it surely paid off – the show was amazing!

The art work for the show was also done by the residents who made the 1000 cranes themselves. Way to go everyone!

Love Blooms At Merrill Gardens

It’s never too late to fall in love again!

Lorene Hill & Fletcher McGee were unexpectedly shot by cupid’s arrow when they met at Merrill Gardens in Florence (AL). The two love birds became friends after both of their spouses passed away and they got to know each other while participating in daily activities and enjoying outings together.

After a year courtship they were married in the community flower garden as residents, family and friends celebrated their special day.

The ceremony took place on a beautiful summer day and friends and family came out to wish the love birds well.

Congratulations to this lovely couple – cheers to the best days to come!

The Pets of Merrill Gardens

Merrill Gardens recognizes the enjoyment and companionship pets provide their owners. Pets are welcome in our communities and we love seeing photos of our furry friends. In our e-newsletter we asked readers to send us their pet photos. Here are a few of our favorites!
