Our residents took to the sky recently when they visited iFly Seattle to do some indoor sky diving. Residents from Merrill Gardens at The University (WA) and Merrill Gardens at Renton Centre (WA) showed no fear, putting on their flying suits and going airborne!
Once again our residents show us that age is just a number. After learning the basics, they were up, up and away!

We are so proud of the Resident Council at Merrill Gardens at The University! The Resident Council presented a check for $1,506 to sponsor a terminally ill child to attend the Stanley Stamm Summer Camp.
The money was raised at the resident’s recent big bingo event.
Dr. Stanley Stamm, who lives at The University community, was a heart specialist at Seattle’s Children’s Hospital. Dr. Stamm founded the camp to give children with serious illnesses the chance to go fishing, ride horses and have fun at a week-long, sleepover camp near Mt. Rainier.
We are so proud of our communities and their efforts to help others. Way to go!
Congratulations to Merrill Gardens at The University (Seattle, WA)! The community is a finalist in the DESIGN/Environments for Aging Awards. A 16 member jury made up of architects, interior designers, regulators, providers, and researchers, all with backgrounds in senior care and long-term living, chose just five communities from across the country for this award.
There is an award ceremony set for March 22 in Atlanta where we will find out if we are the Best in Show winner. The community will also be featured in DESIGN Magazine.
This inter-generational community offers both senior housing and market rate apartments across a shared courtyard along with great shops and restaurants. We are thrilled that the community has received a number of awards for its design and unique approach to senior living. Kudos!
Our residents have such interesting stories to tell about their lives. As part of a continuing series, we have asked our residents to share their lives in a series of video interviews. This wonderful couple lives at Merrill Gardens at The University in Seattle and we asked them to reflect on their 65 years together. Enjoy!
