Celebrating Our Nurses

America has been celebrating National Nurses Week since 1996 and we are proud to recognize our nursing team every year in honor of this celebration. We want to brag about just a few of the amazing people who work at our communities. Their efforts in constantly delivering compassionate care while embodying the ethics of Merrill Gardens make our team successful - our nurses prove that nursing is truly a work of heart.

Meet Steve Hall, the Resident Care Director at Green Valley Ranch in Henderson, NV. He has been working with the community for almost three years. Previously, Steve was a military medic and emergency room nurse.  That is some great experience and Steve is a key member of the Green Valley Ranch community. Thank you for all that you do, Steve!

Introducing, Marivic Santos, the Resident Care Director at our Willow Glen, CA community. She started her career as a caregiver, then worked her way to Senior Caregiver and ultimately became the Resident Care Director. She has been working at Willow Glen since 2014 and her team admires her positive personality. Her team affirmed, “She is a Five Star Nurse! We are so fortunate to have Marivic here - she’s truly special and cares so much for all residents." Thank you, Marivic! (Located in the center of the photo).

Next, meet two wonderful nurses from our community in Madison, AL, Candace Taheny and Kim Kohlenberg. These two are known for their kind attitudes and their team thinks so highly of them both, “Candace and Kim make everyone's day better. They are committed and compassionate to our residents and our team members. They epitomize what it means to be a nurse and our entire community is better because of them. They love and are loved and have brought fun to Madison. They are our heroes." Many thanks, Candace and Kim!

Finally, meet Karen Casey, Resident Care Director at Renton Centre, WA. Karen has been with the community for almost five years and has proven to be an excellent resource for residents and their families. Karen is a positive force in the community who focuses on resident satisfaction as her main priority. A former resident’s family member spoke out about Karen’s character, “Karen is one of a kind and extraordinary. Any resident who lives there and is under the care of Karen is well taken care of. I know she took care of my grandmother in the last years of her life. Karen is an angel.” Thank you, Karen!

We love you all!
