Two of our Merrill Gardens communities are coming together to support each other during Hurricane Dorian. Following an evacuation order from Governor McMaster of South Carolina, residents and team members from our Carolina Park, SC community (located outside of Charleston) traveled to Woodstock, GA to relocate during the hurricane.

The Carolina Park community booked two charter buses and made the trip Monday afternoon. Meanwhile, our Woodstock team prepared for the guests’ arrival by getting supplies, food, pillows and bedding to ensure guests could be as comfortable as possible. Everyone was happy to arrive safely to Merrill Gardens at Woodstock.

Station #10 from the Woodstock Fire Department was at Merrill Gardens at Woodstock to welcome and assist residents getting off the buses and settled into the community. The Local Woodstock Police Department also graciously provided the community with toiletries, food and other emergency supplies.

Merrill Gardens at Woodstock is honored to host the Merrill Gardens at Carolina Park residents and team members during this time. Everyone is making the most out of this situation with special entertainment, added outings, and a great opportunity to make new friends from their sister community.

We are grateful for the safety of our residents and team members and our thoughts are with those that are further impacted by Hurricane Dorian.
