Kindness Month at The Oaks

The Oaks in Gilbert, AZ embraced a new tradition in their town this month, by celebrating “Kindness Week.”  The Gilbert Town Council even adopted a new nickname for their town this week, “Kindness USA.”

The town has been buzzing with this kindness campaign and it has been exciting to see the random acts of kindness taking place in The Oaks and out in the Gilbert community.

Residents and team members at The Oaks loved the celebration so much they decided to keep it going all month at their community!  Active Living Program Director Kristin organized a series of events to involve residents in the community and give back to others who make a difference in their lives.

The Oaks has several high school volunteers who visit the community to visit and join residents in activities weekly. Residents and the team created gift bags with handwritten notes to give to each volunteer.

Executive Chef Christian baked “Kindness Cookies” and residents took them to Downtown Gilbert to hand out to people coming and going. They enjoyed making fellow Gilbert community members smile with their random act of kindness.

Executive Chef Christian also made a platter of gourmet sandwiches for residents and the team to deliver to the local fire station.

What an amazing month celebrating kindness and the human connection. Residents enjoyed contributing and giving back to the Gilbert community.
