Activities With a Purpose!

Merrill Gardens' communities enjoy participating in activities that have a purpose. Residents around the country organize and participate in unique and exciting activities that give back. We love to make a difference while also providing residents with an opportunity to spend time together.

Merrill Gardens at Woodstock (GA) has been very active in participating in activities that benefit others.

Since 1984, the Hospital Art Foundation has been dedicated to adding color to the hospital environment with colorful paintings and wall murals. This resident painting was shipped to a hospital in Kenya. Look at that talent and beautiful art!

The Needle Niche group serves their local community by knitting blankets, mittens, scarves, and hats. The items are then donated to local charities to provide to people in need. Thank you, Merrill Gardens at Woodstock! You are making such a difference.

Other examples of activities with a purpose include:

  • Veterans from Merrill Gardens communities in the Pacific Northwest traveled with Puget Sound Honor Flight to Washington D.C. to see the memorials built in their honor. Click here to learn more.
  • Merrill Gardens at Gilroy (CA) volunteers monthly at Rebekah Children's Services, a non-profit organization that is shaping future practices to better serve the mental health, foster care, and adoption needs of children and families. Click here to learn more.
  • The Oaks, A Merrill Gardens Community in Gilbert, AZ embraced a new tradition by celebrating "Kindness Month". Click here to learn more.
  • Merrill Gardens at the University (WA) had a blast volunteering at Stamm Camp. Click here to learn more.

We are very grateful for all of the Merrill Gardens communities that make a difference every day in their local areas.
