Meet Charles, Ethel, and Tex

As we continue through our 30 videos for 30 years series, we can't wait to share our next round of resident stories. It's been such an honor interviewing these residents and getting to hear each of their stories.

A resident of Merrill Gardens at Brentwood (CA), Ethel was born in 1919, meaning she has over a century of knowledge! She has a great piece of advice for the world, and talks about what makes her proud. Active Living Program Director, Trinh, said "She is independent, her mind is sharp, and she would out do anyone at a trivia game." Watch this video to learn more about Ethel.

If you are from the Pacific Northwest, you're likely familiar with Emerald City Smoothie. Meet the founder, and resident of Merrill Gardens at Auburn (WA), Tex, who started the smoothie job in retirement. To say he was successful would be an understatement! Tex even took some of his fellow residents on an outing to treat them to a smoothie (see picture below.) Learn more about Tex by watching this video.

Charles, a resident at Merrill Gardens at Renton Centre (WA), sailed around the world one and a half times throughout four years. He describes it as "an adventure of a lifetime", shares some of his favorite memories, and tells us his favorite place he visited with his wife. Hear some awesome stories by watching Charles' video.

Stay tuned for more videos to celebrate our company's 30th anniversary! Thanks for watching!
