They provide expert educators that lead fun-filled classes surrounding horticulture, culinary, and garden art. These classes not only produce beautiful gardens, they also provide physical and mental benefits as well! ![](https://blog.merrillgardens.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/051_bhb7qm.jpg) After winning the award, the residents at Santa Maria saw that the garden was overgrown and needed to thin it out. Over this last week they have removed plants, replanted new ones, and are excited to see their garden flourish once again under their green thumbs! ![](https://blog.merrillgardens.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/_Q8A3637_wmcydc.jpg) It's amazing to see what love and care can blossom, and we are excited to see what comes next. We hope you can find time this week to spend in nature, and maybe even start a garden of your own! --- #### Tag: #### Share: - [Follow us on Facebook](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https://blog.merrillgardens.com/santa-maria-takes-first-place) - [Follow us on Twitter](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?url=https://blog.merrillgardens.com/santa-maria-takes-first-place&text=Santa%20Maria%20Takes%20First%20Place) - [Follow us on Linkedin](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https://blog.merrillgardens.com/santa-maria-takes-first-place) - [Follow us on Pinterest](http://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=https://blog.merrillgardens.com/santa-maria-takes-first-place&text=Santa%20Maria%20Takes%20First%20Placedescription=Gardening%20is%20so%20much%20more%20than%20just%20watering%20plants%20and%20providing%20sunlight,%20it%20takes%20patience,%20teamwork,%20and%20a%20great%20deal%20of%20care.%20The%20folks%20who%20live%20at[...]&media=https://5001117.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/5001117/Imported_Blog_Media/Garden_SantaMaria_gpi7lv.jpg) --- ##### [More posts](https://blog.merrillgardens.com/) ### Leave a Comment Below --- ![W3C](https://blog.merrillgardens.com/hs-fs/hubfs/MerrillGardens_January2024/images/wcag2.1AA-blue-v_jaqpmq.png?width=368&name=wcag2.1AA-blue-v_jaqpmq.png "W3C") ###### Merrill Gardens [1938 Fairview Avenue E #300 Seattle, WA 98102](https://www.merrillgardens.com/communities) [206-676-5300](tel:206-676-5300) - [Privacy Policy](https://www.merrillgardens.com/privacy-policy) - [Accessibility and Non Discrimination](https://www.merrillgardens.com/accessibility-statement) - [Do Not Share My Personal Information/Limit the Use or Disclosure of My Sensitive Personal Information](https://conversionlogix.com/ccpa-opt-out/) Copyright © 2026 Merrill Gardens [Equal Opportunity Housing](https://www.hud.gov/program_offices/fair_housing_equal_opp)
