It's no secret that this year has been challenging, and with each challenge comes the need for innovation and adaptation. At Merrill Gardens we want to do everything we can to help our residents live their lives to the fullest, and this time around it came in the form of new technology!
In a previous blog, we talked about an incredible opportunity that we had with Google, where they donated 1,000 Nest Hub Max devices to all of our communities in Washington. These devices not only provide another source of accessible entertainment, they also allow residents to combat isolation with video calls and other social applications. Before installation, we customized these devices so that each resident has their own personal experience, allowing them to turn it on and get going!
The first Nest Hub Max was installed back in May, and we love to see that our residents continue to enjoy what the device can do for them. We are excited about the future of technology education as this opportunity provides an easy path for familiarity with smart products for years to come.
One resident at Merrill Gardens at Kirkland (WA) told Health Tech Magazine, "This has given me a chance to see family. I see my friends. I see three operas on Saturday, I get the news, I get musicals. I love it. I don't feel isolated." It truly makes us smile to know that we can provide happiness to our incredible residents!
