Every four years the world comes together to compete in the Summer Olympics, and while athletes are going for gold in Tokyo, our Merrill family is having their own Olympics right here at home!
The team at Carolina Park (SC) has gone above and beyond when it comes to creating a personalized Olympics experience for the residents. The first event of the competition was the inventive kayak bean bag toss! Residents used their paddles to toss bean bags at a target and gained points in an effort to take home a gold medal.
The next event was horse racing, as residents rolled a huge die to move their horse down the track in an effort to cross the finish line first!
Residents took their talents to the hardwood for the final event of the week, as they tried their hand at basketball. With a lot of focus, tons of fun, and of course a variety of themed snacks, we loved seeing residents and team members enjoy themselves!
Residents at Solivita Marketplace (FL) also got into the competitive spirit as they lined up multiple events throughout the week. The first event of the week was beach ball volleyball as residents grouped up in teams of three to see who would take home medals.
The next pair of events were resident favorites as they played cornhole and worked on their Frisbee toss. It was a tight competition as everyone showed off their accuracy and cheered on one another!
Residents at Barkley Place (FL) started the Olympics festivities earlier this week with their own version of the ceremonial passing of the torch!
At Monterey (CA) residents enjoyed an Olympics-themed party with a wide variety of country representation and some delicious treats for everyone to enjoy!
We hope everyone has had the chance to sit back and enjoy the Olympics this year, or maybe if you're feeling daring you can follow in our resident's footsteps and have one of your own!
