Led by visionary artist, Catherine Mayer, this unique program is designed to help seniors heal, practice mindfulness, and build a sense of community through art. The residents use an app called L.A.U.G.H. (Let Art Unleash Great Happiness) for these awesome projects. This app is evidence based with a goal to help seniors feel relaxed, focused, and build high self-esteem through art, music, and breathing. ![](https://blog.merrillgardens.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/IMG_6481_jsb95j.jpg) Some Merrill folks had the chance to visit Catherine's studio, and they had a blast creating art through this app. We think it's safe to say that we have some extremely talented residents! There were so many "ah ha!" moments and plenty of smiles and laughs to go around. ![](https://blog.merrillgardens.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/IMG_6493_qyilew.jpg) The first class at Murano was a big hit, attended by a variety of residents. One resident was thrilled to rediscover his love of drawing and connection to art.
