The residents and team members at The University in Seattle call themselves 'Grandfriends' to a group of second grade students. Each month they gather together to write letters to the children, sharing their experiences and telling them about life at Merrill Gardens.
It's always such a treat to get the letters in the mail!
The project is run by resident Monica Smith who is seen below with one of the student pen pals.
This is such a special way for everyone at the community to come together and share with the students at Villa Academy in Seattle.
In this age of technology, we think it is a pretty special and lasting way to build inter generational relationships!
