Merrill Gardens at First Hill in Seattle is the winner of Eldergrow’s "Happiest and Healthiest Garden" award for the month of July! Eldergrow is a mobile indoor garden that offers our residents a therapeutic connection to nature. This award recognizes a garden that embodies both beauty and consistent care. You can see from the pictures that the gang at First Hill has done a lovely job with these beautiful plants and flowers!
Merrill Gardens has installed 12 Eldergrow gardens in our Washington, California and Arizona communities. The garden on wheels stimulates social, physical and creative activities for our residents to exercise their green thumbs. Not only does their garden produce beautiful plants but also fresh herbs and vegetables that residents harvest and cook in culinary classes taught by Eldergrow educators.
The First Hill Eldergrow garden was chosen out of a pool of more than 37 Eldergrow gardens located around the country to receive this award (see award on top right corner of garden).
Residents at First Hill have been working for the past two years with Eldergrow Educators Tara and Shannon to upkeep their garden. “First Hill residents are very helpful and fun to work with I appreciate them!” says Shannon. Great work, First Hill Eldergrow Team!
